About My Business

After a number of years in advertising and public
relations, with a focus on copywriting; seven years of
general freelancing; and over five years in marketing
with a historic travel destination in central North
Carolina, I returned to freelance writing with a focus on
travel in June 2004.

Travel has long been a passion, but
I am also able to
bring a variety of experiences in print journalism, public
relations and inside the travel industry to the table. I
believe I understand well the needs of publications -- no
freebies, no biases and an honest approach to text. But I
also understand travel and tourism, and the kind of
information many travelers seek if they wish to
duplicate a travel experience.

Since restarting freelancing, I have also written a
number of people and place articles that do not
necessarily fit the "tourism" framework.

In the summer of 2006, I undertook writing my first
full-length play script, and have continued to work on
scripts long and short since that time.
I am in various
stages of working to produce or place those scripts.

I've also revitalized some older manuscripts and written
new material in
general fiction, publishing my first two
novels in 2011 and 2012.

Finally, in the spring of 2009, I took a class in voiceover
work -- having done some on a less-professional basis on
several occasions in the past -- and in November 2009
completed a recorded set of commercial and narration
demos.
